A Manchester-based grassroots live music promoter making waves in the North West. We showcase the best and brightest artists our Northern cities have to offer.
Northern Parasol was founded in the summer of 2022, in the smoking area of The Courtyard in Manchester. Initially intended to alleviate the boredom of the Summer Break before returning to University, it has grown into an irreplaceable fixture on Manchester’s indie circuit.
After some comings & goings, co-founders Aaron Chislett & Tom Pritchard have continued to curate events with some of the best, emerging talent Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Leeds (and Mid Wales) has to offer.
Acts such as Brand New Legs, Hungry & Juno have all featured in their ascent into staples of the scene, along with Giovanni’s Room, Pseudo Raft Foundation, Thee Spicy Leviathan and others as they get their foothold on the scene.
Crowd-surfing, mosh pits, football chants and chaos are to be expected at this point, and Northern Parasol offers them in abundance.
Northern Parasol joined in partnership with the Music Venue Trust in 2025 and continues to be at the forefront of Manchester’s indie-scene. With the pioneering ‘Stop The Set’ policy, we also lead the way on creating a safe, welcoming atmosphere at every event we host.
After 2 years, 60 acts have taken to the stage to over 800 people at multiple iconic Manchester venues, and we have no intention of stopping there.

Northern Parasol's Nightshift #13 | Cinder @ Eagle Inn
We're thrilled to have Cinder join us as our headliners for this one! Industrial, with hints of shoegaze, this quartet tell the stories of the growing up in the North West with hook-driven songwriting. Distortion, ambience with eerie undertones and relatable lyrics, we can't wait for them to play our Nighshift!
Northern Parasol Presents | Sugartung @ Band on the Wall
Your headliners for this one are Sugartung. This hard rock quartet don't understand the point of a show unless it's riotous, unless it's chaotic and unless it blows you away. One of the busiest, most respect and insanely talented on the scene, they show know signs of slowing down. They are the pre-definitive of the greatest grassroots show you'll ever go to, they are band zero, and they will only improve.
Northern Parasol's Nightshift #14 | After Orbit @ Eagle Inn
We are delighted to have After Orbit as our headliners for this show. This blues orientated ensembale promise to channel the dynamic energy of The E Street Band with a modern blues flavour, with hints of funk & soul to keep everyone on their toes. We're thrilled to have them play their first Nightshift show with us.
